A peek at my new fine collection...

It has been a dream of mine to move into fine materials, since long before passing a decade of making one of a kind treasures. The essence of timelessness is much more thoroughly embodied in gold and sterling silver, which seems a natural partner to my running theme of old gears and watch parts.

I sifted through my expansive watch part collection to select some of my favourite parts, and had them cast in gold and silver as an experiment to see how they would turn out. I picked out the most special pieces to carry forward into my new collection.

I had no plans other than to have the pieces cast, and since my process has always been organic and tactile, I did as I usually do, and got all the pieces out and started to play with them. The collection quickly started coming together as the tiny yet sturdy little gears spoke for themselves, as they always do.

Jewels heading East!

I am excited to announce that my handmade treasures will soon be available at Farrago, a shop located in historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. A happy tale of a dream come true, the owners of this shop worked hard selling antiques and vintage goodies in Toronto, to eventually open a shop in this quaint location.

No More Arts Market Junction Location :(

While I was excited to announce this past June that I was setting up a new space at the Juction Arts Market, since the original Leslieville location closed, I am sad to report that I have already made the decision to pack it up. I took a gamble trying something new in times that are very strange and unpredictable. Unfortunately I just wasn’t able to keep it up as well I would like as well some other factors that were a slight challenge for the time being. That being said, I hope to be part of the Arts Market again one day, when we get back to the way life should be. I consider myself an honorary member of the Arts Market in spirit for the time being.

Sadly this is just one of many communities that are suffering from the ripples of lockdown measures. It is difficult to say how many small, niche and special gatherings and social occasions will never return, which were very much a large makeup of peoples lives, even if they were just a weekly or monthly occurrence. Personally I must accept that most of the places I spent my time, and looked forward to visiting and seeing familiar faces are never returning. Though we must try to look forward to the new, the things we have lost are not to be forgotten.

Currently in Toronto, my one of a kind jewellery is available exclusively at Made You Look Jewellery.
I have a wide selection of vintage items, being updated regularly on my new Etsy Page Another Affair Vintage. Soon I will be adding clothing to my Etsy shop as well! I have some ideas planned for upcoming Instagram sales on my Personal page . I have so many treasures here to post, you wouldn’t believe it, so big Etsy jewellery updates are on the way too.

New Mini Shop at the Junction Arts Market!

Welcome to my new mini shop, freshly located in the Junction Arts Market as of yesterday! I spent the last few weeks working hard to create the perfect display that would accommodate an organized and well rounded mix of all the types of treasures. Scrunchies, Watch Part Jewellery, Illustrations, Vintage Housewares and tiny treasures, I did my best to have it all!

I went from having a really big area for my shop, to this tiny one, so at this time I don’t have vintage clothing available. This did, however, give me the opportunity to refine my display! All of my display pieces are made from bits of wood, repurposed thrifted items and other random things.

From stacking cat boxes, to a 1950’s Chord Organ with sparkling gold keys, I did my best to select a well rounded, colourful and spring themed display!

Hello to everyone!

I have been working very hard on listing a well rounded collection on my new Etsy shop. You can find everything from my handmade scrunchies and watch part jewellery to vintage jewels, accessories and odds and ends! Before the lockdown, I had purchased a lot of wonderful vintage estate pieces. Many of the recent listings on my shop contain pieces from this collection.

I have done my best to grow a well rounded selection, soon I will start listing some bags and vintage clothing now that I am getting used to shipping orders!

Hello to everyone, I hope you are all well, considering the world seems to be falling down around us! As we must adapt and overcome obstacles that we face in these challenging times, I have focused my attentions on gearing up my online presence. As you may know, or may have observed from my lack of online items, I feel a great resistance to the growing digital lifestyle, and have always been very proud to survive off selling my treasures out of strictly brick and mortar shops. Well, that came around to bite me in a big way recently, as we know, the world has shut down. I expect some silver lining through all of this, as many of us will take this time to reflect and adapt more gratitude for very simple things we all took for granted. I want to thank everyone who has grown accustomed to visiting my shop at the Leslieville Arts Market, and my work at Made You Look.

A one of a kind necklace, available at Parkdale’s gem, Made You Look.
I used this beautiful vintage collar necklace, removed all the stones that weren’t missing and created three symmetrical resin watch part designs in each. Wedding bouquet custom order

I was contacted by MYL to create a resin cast pendant design using dried flowers from a wedding bouquet, the rest was up to me! The talented Alt & Roe crafted me a perfect sterling silver pendant to work in and I carefully selected and deconstructed the flowers to the smallest pieces (of course) before creating this 6 layer design. A charming example of the unique custom orders I can create for you!

Fresh New Look at Arts Market!

We did a huge overhaul over the last few days in my space at the Leslieville Arts Market, you will certainly notice some big changes next time you visit. A fresh coat of white and highlights of candy floss pink and mint green add a fresh feel to the space! I hand painted my new sign, and many new little display items that were hand crafted to perfectly highlight and display my little treasures. There is plenty to explore, but most importantly all my classic items are still available! I hope you enjoy the space and get the most out of your next shopping experience.
