I've been working hard and now the new pieces are starting to flow in to my shop in the Leslieville Arts Market! The holidays are one of my most creative times, as the new designs flow, I come up with all kinds of extra special one off ideas that I never revisit!
Now is the time to get in touch with me about custom orders! Whether you have a beautiful old piece of jewelry that needs new life, a special watch you would like transformed or if you need my help to come up with something amazing, email info@amindawood.com.

Happy Halloween!
I love Halloween, a night full of fun, creativity, ghouls and weirdos! I took special care adding hand sewn details to this vintage black costume dress I picked up thrifting to give my Morticia look the couture elements she deserves. Hope you all had an amazing Halloween weekend!
Works in Progress
I've been working on a few large scale illustrations lately. There will be lots of new original pieces, and prints available for the holidays!

I went to Fan Expo and all I got was….
For the very first time, I waited in a very long line at Fan Expo, for a quick photo with a celeb, like a big nerd. But I couldn't possibly pass up the chance to meet Mads Mikkelsen! He has portrayed an diverse range of fascinating characters in Danish cinema and recently 'killed it' in the roll of Hannibal Lecter.
I met some Fannibals in line for the photo, and it was great to finally nerd out and talk about all things Hannibal!
Everyone is sad to say goodbye to the show, but we are so thankful to have at least three seasons of this masterpiece to enjoy! Despite its short life, Hannibal has a VERY dedicated cult fan base that will keep the spirit alive for many cons to come!

I was lucky enough this weekend to have a fantastic client drive to Niagara so I could tattoo one of my original designs on her. Nancy bought my Masked Pyjama Party print at the Fringe Festival Market, and loves it so much she wanted to carry it with her forever! I am honoured she is such a big fan of my masked ladies, thanks Nancy!!
Want an original design? Email me to make an appointment, I am at the shop next weekend Saturday & Sunday

Heatwave Interview
Drawing on the porch while Seven keeps me company
I was paid a visit by a lovely crew from Blue Ant Media, to talk about my work, inspirations and film me doing my thing in the studio. It sure was hot out this Wednesday, and having my studio full of lights certainly turned up the heat. We all got through it in the end, and had an a great time regardless. The interview is for an up and coming series and is top secret for now! Stay tuned for updates.

My first day working by tourist destination Clifton Hill at Lucky 13 in Niagara Falls
I am excited to announce that I will be working at Lucky 13 in Niagara Falls, tattooing alongside my good friend, antique and oddity collector/dealer and super clean old school tattooer, Steve Davis, every Friday and Saturday this summer! Tattooing was my second love, after drawing, and the reason I moved to Toronto in the first place. I didn't realize how much I missed it, until I took Steve up on his long standing offer to come work with him. It's the best decision i've made in a long time, and I love visiting my hometown for all its decrepit ruins and hokeyness. I am very busy working on some original and classic designs to bring down with me next weekend and would love to see you! I am keen to tattoo some of my new original artwork, and get a fancy portfolio going! Contact info@amindawood.com to set up an appointment or discuss designs.
Closed for the night = time to play games at the Midway
What I wouldn't give to take home one of those flashing batman signs.
A non Niagara Falls resident may find themselves wondering where exactly the bus has just dropped them off, and overlook that this is one of the most inspiring areas in the city.
New at Arts Market this week
A true one of a kind piece! This antique watch case has 7 layers of authentic disassembled watch parts <3
Super tiny vintage locket with antique watch parts set in resin1
A restock of my popular Mechanical Heart mini stud earrings in a rainbow of colours!
The pendant to end all pendants! This incredibly detailed beauty was removed from a vintage brooch and converted to this beautiful golden black chain. This one almost didn't make it out of the studio, i'm in love with it!
Fringe Club Recap
What a week! Rained out HARD on day one and a few too many hours in the blistering sun for this vampiric night owl. Overall, despite the elements, the Traveling Arts Market vendors and I had a great time and couldn't have asked for a more wonderful crowd! On July 9th, Arts Market and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary, I am proud to be the last remaining original vendor! I have been part of the Leslieville location since the very first day and we have grown together over the years. I'm not sure what I would be doing right now if I hadn't joined Arts Market and started up this treasuring/jewelstress business, but I am happy life lead me here! Thank you so much to all my amazing customers, to Daniel Cohen for creating Arts Market, my supportive and encouraging friends and a special loving thank you to my mom for all her support and additional treasure hunting outside Toronto!

A Mirror Ball Hair Portrait of Noel Fielding
I among many others am a die hard fan of The Mighty Boosh, if you haven't seen it and you like obscure, surreal humour, I suggest you waste no time. Howard and so many of the bizarre characters, especially Old Gregg, have a special place in all of our hearts, and I think most of us would be happy to drink Bailey's with him.
That being said, I was inspired to do a portrait of Noel, who is also an artist, a fellow amazing boot advocate and all around champion of fashion. His approach to art and the costumes on Luxury Comedy have a very welcoming and approachable feeling to them, making the idea of creating feel less restricted and much more fun and fluid. A refreshing and unique reminder to take art and life much less seriously in the best way possible. Thanks Fantasy Man for fighting Reality Man for us all!
Also this stand up clip featuring his perspective of a house fly is one of my faves, you'll never look at a fly the same way!
